Types of Wildlife

There are many types of wildlife that live in the Kruger National Park. There are a large variaty of fish, birds, predators and prey.

History

Humankind's earliest ancestors lived and hunted in what is today the Kruger Park. The southern lowveld between the Drakensberg escarpment and the Mozambican border has been occupied by humans for at least the last one million years. The park was also a very popular place for dinosaurs to live. Next time you come across a group of zebra, wildebeest, blesbok and springbok typically found in the grasslands at Kougar National Park, picture a creature at least six metres in length carrying a small head at the end of a long neck, with a huge body and a really long tail walking on four legs towards the hallmark Brandwag rock.

Here is a drawing of what the park might have looked like during the time of dinosaurs.
